Growing up in Plantation, Fla, Michael attended Plantation Park Elementary and then Seminole Middle School, where he excelled as both a student and athlete. He loved playing baseball and had a playful habit of teasing his dad about the Jets' endless losing streak!
He attended South Plantation High School where his love for cooking blossomed, particularly under the guidance of his culinary teacher, Mr. Aron Hughes, a graduate of Johnson & Wales University. Inspired by Mr. Hughes, Michael applied to Johnson & Wales, where he earned a substantial academic scholarship. In his second year, he won a prestigious grant from US Foods, which led to a transformative summer in Ohio at Catawba Island Club, where Michael honed his skills as a sous chef and line cook. Michael’s sudden passing has left a deep void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his memory lives on through a scholarship established in his name. Michael's dedication to the culinary arts and his bright future were cut short, but his legacy continues through the scholarship that helps future culinary students pursue their dreams.
